Riding Lessons

Horseback riding is a challenging and rewarding sport for both adults and children. We offer Western and English riding instruction. Your choice of group or private lessons. You do not need to own a horse. Just come and enjoy the fun. Classes are offered Monday through Saturday according to availability.

Basic Horsemanship is offered to start you off from ages 8 to adult. This class provides an introduction to horsemanship. Topics include safety, psychology of the horse, horse care, ownership, tack, equipment and basic riding techniques. The class consists of 4 sessions, with the first three in a class-room format. Students will ride in the fourth session. Upon completion of Basic Horsemanship interested students can join one of our many ongoing classes. You will be placed according to your goals, experience and what/day time best fits your schedule.

Western and English Riding Lessons are offered beginner through advanced. You will learn everything from safety first, grooming saddling, bridling and much more.

Junior Rider classes are offered as a fun learning experience for young children, ages 4 to 7 that are interested in horses. The program offers a safe, fun environment of horse education. Parents are part of the class, walking beside the horse and helping their child. The children will learn the skills of balance and learning about the horse in the safest possible atmosphere.

Home Schooler's we have just the class for you. Hillcrest now offers lessons during the weekday hours to those of you who can not make evening lessons or weekends.
